PREVATT FUNERAL HOME became a second generation funeral home when Clarence E. Prevatt Jr. became a licensed funeral director in 1969. Following in his father's footsteps. After successfully managing 6 growing funeral homes he opened his own funeral home in Hudson Florida in 1993.
Clarence E. Prevatt Jr co-founded the Independent Funeral Directors of Florida in 1992. Now boasting a membership of over 300 Independent Funeral Homes throughout the state of Florida and now actively lobbies daily to protect the consumers in the state of Florida. Mr. Prevatt was recently honored by fellow Independent Funeral Home owners with the Clyde Lankford award, the highest award available to honor one that has given so much back to his profession. Mr. Prevatt has also received honors from the independent funeral directors in the state of Michigan when asked by that organization to speak on their behalf to the legislation to stop large corporations from owning funeral homes and cemeteries in the state, which was soundly defeated. Mr. Prevatt currently serves on the board of Hernando Pasco Hospice and recently elected to his second term as Treasurer.
