John Edwin Vidiella, 75, of Hudson, Florida passed away peacefully on Monday, June 26, 2023. He was born in Bronx, New York to Juan Humberto Vidiella of Chile and Ventura Cortes Marques of Puerto Rico. He lived there until he joined the Marine Corps at age 17. He fought in the Vietnam War and was a proud Marine. He often spoke of some time spent in Chile during his teen years and still has beloved family members living there to this day.
The Marine Corps took him to many places around the world which he would often mention in his stories. After his honorable discharge, he also lived in Ponce, Puerto Rico for some time. He had fond memories of his home and his beloved horse Estrella. Of all the places he had the opportunity to live, there was only one place he truly called home. That place was Cedar Hill, Tennessee.
He loved horses and horseback riding. He was very talented working with his hands and could build anything from scratch. He was fortunate and proud to have custom built his home in Cedar Hill. He loved nature, rivers and the ocean. He enjoyed target shooting and collecting guns. He loved his sweet little dogs and companions, Precious and Demi.
John Edwin is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Damaris Quinones Vidiella of Hudson, FL; his son John (and wife Lucy) Vidiella of Bronx, NY; his daughter Monica (and husband Andy) Ayala of Bronx, NY; his son Eric (and wife Lynn) Vidiella of Hamden, CT; his son Jorge (and wife Caroline) Rivera of Tampa, FL; his son Richard (and wife Shawn) Vidiella of Oakland City, IN; and his daughter Gabi (and husband Matt) Sneed of Portland, TN; plus beloved bonus children, many grandchildren, and several cousins.
In accordance with his wishes, John was cremated.
