Lorann Alecia (Weaver) Jahr, age 68, of Fremont, Michigan, passed away with family by her side on January 25, 2023, in Hudson, Florida, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Lorann was born on May 28, 1954, in Shelby, Michigan, the third daughter to Harry Weaver II and Rosalie Alice (Skinner) Weaver.
Lorann met Donald (Bob) Jahr of Fremont, Michigan, in July of 1970 and after a whirlwind romance, they were married in a two-ring ceremony at the Dalton Baptist Church in Muskegon, Michigan, on October 17, 1970. They made their home in Fremont, Michigan, where they raised two daughters, Heidi and Lisa, and shared 52 years of marriage together.
Lorann adored her two grandsons, Grady Hunt and Jonas Simcik, and loved doing things with them that made them feel special, like tractor rides and pillow fights. Lorann liked going out to dinner, dancing, cutting up with friends, sunny days at the beach, floating in her pool, tending her flower beds, traveling, seeing new places and meeting new people. She was one of those people that could make friends wherever she was. Lorann loved to read and watch movies. She was special to a lot of people; some of her favorite people called her Honey, Mom, Mimi, or Aunt Ran. All kids young and old adored her.
Lorann got a high school GED education while married and from there she took business and accounting classes in the evenings while working and taking care of her family. She gave 100% to whatever endeavor she tackled. She worked many jobs during her career and retired from the Catholic Diocese of Grand Rapids while working as the Administrative Assistant to the Catholic Priest of Brunswick, Michigan, and bookkeeper for two parishes.
Lorann is survived by her husband, Donald Jahr, of Fremont, Michigan. Her two daughters, Heidi (Cory) Hunt of Saugatuck, Michigan, and Lisa Jahr of Clarksville, Tennessee. Grandsons, Grady Hunt and Jonas Simcik. Her mother, Rosalie Rock, her two sisters, Valarie Conklin and Joyce Cyphers of Fremont, Michigan, and brother Larry Weaver of Hesperia, Michigan.
Lorann is preceded in death by her father, Harry Weaver II, step-mother Opal Weaver, Foster Mother Alma Darling, in-laws Gordon and Nadine Jahr, and her brother Harry Weaver III.
