Marie Theresa Leneghan

Marie T. Leneghan passed away peacefully at home with her family on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. Friends and relatives are invited for visitation on Friday, March 21, 2025 from 2PM to 4PM and 6PM to 8PM at Prevatt Funeral Home, 7709 State Rd 52 in Hudson, FL. Funeral Services will be on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 11AM at St Michael the Archangel R.C. Church, 8014 State Rd 52, Hudson, FL.

Marie was born on May 13, 1937 to James and Mary Ann (Fries) Gallagher in the Germantown section of Philadelphia, PA. She attended St Francis of Assisi Catholic School and Little Flower High School for Girls, graduating in 1955. After high school she worked in Philadelphia at Bell Telephone, then Wellington Management. Marie and Mike married on November 11, 1961. The had three sons and moved from Philadelphia to Flanders, NJ in 1970 where they made many friendships that would continue throughout their lifetime. They moved again to The Woodlands, Texas, eventually retiring to Florida in 1995. They were active members of their community and church wherever they lived and made friends wherever they went. They never missed a family gathering no matter the distance. Marie loved her family, friends, parties, her Irish heritage, and cheering on her children and grandchildren in their endeavors. She loved sports and playing games and was very competitive. Her door was open to everyone; to her there were no strangers, just friends she hadn't met. 

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Michael T. Leneghan, her parents, her brothers, James, William, John, and Joseph, and her sister, Ann Boyce. She is survived by her brother Michael, her children, Michael (Pam), James, and Daniel, and her beloved grandchildren, Katie, Dan (Jodie), Michael, Shannon Wingert (Kevin), Matthew, and Sarah, and her great granddaughter, Charlotte. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who affectionately called her Aunt Re-Re.
