Mariette (Gosselin) Rivard 08/09/1938 - 12/30/24Mariette (Gosselin) Rivard of New Port Richey, FL entered eternal rest on December 30th, 2024 after a brief illness. Mariette was born in Montreal, QC on August 9, 1938 to Gaston Gosselin and Alice (Dupont) Gosselin.Mariette was married to Gilles Rivard in Coaticook, QC on August 18,1956. They began their life together on the "Rivard" farm in South Canaan, VT where they lived for many years. In the early 1970's, Mariette opened a small yarn and fabric shop on the family farm, this was the beginning of her love of entrepreneurship and meeting people in the community. She would later own and operate a variety store in West Stewartstown, NH for several years, and then a gift and craft store in Hooksett, NH which also offered craft classes. After being snowbirds for several years traveling in their RV, Mariette and Gilles made their lifetime dream come true when they moved to Florida in 2004. Mariette continued her love of selling gifts and crafts in the New Port Richey area.Mariette will be deeply missed and will be remembered for her love of family, her lovely smile, great sense of humor and her laughter. She will also be remembered for her musical talents, her floral arranging designs, craft and crocheting creations. Mariette leaves behind her husband of 68 years Gilles Rivard, her daughter Christiane (Rivard) Brochu, her son Michael Rivard (Lee), grandchildren Stacey Brochu (predeceased), Nicholas Brochu (Christina), Brandan Rivard, Bryan Rivard, great granddaughters Aubrey and Brooke Brochu. She also leaves behind aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. A memorial service will be held in Coaticook, QC at a later date.
