Melinda Lovitt

Melinda “Mitzi” Jean Lovitt née Snodgrass June 8, 1952 - March 15, 2021 Port Richey, Florida Mitzi, a devoted wife, a loving mother, an incredible grandmother, one hell of a pool player, and our tough-as-nails momma bear passed away on Monday, March 15, 2021. Mitzi was a non-traditional, sassy yet classy, “down-home” kind of gal whose cheerful spirit lit up a room and warmed others' hearts. Mitzi was a devoted wife to Robert Lovitt, an amazing mother to her two amazing sons, Scott and Stephen Campbell, of Tampa, FL, and a “not really a step”-mom to a wonderful daughter Elizabeth Lovitt of Memphis, TN, and an awesome son Robert (Robby) Lovitt of Amelia, OH. Her blended family was not only her reason to get up in the morning but one that sustained her every day. Later in life, if you were to ask her, really about anything, the conversation would often turn to her kids and then into a lengthy chat about her much-beloved grandchildren, Ethan, Xavier, Mason, Jude, Trinity, and Skylar whom she insisted on keeping close. Mitzi is survived by her husband, her children, her grandchildren, her mother, Dorothy Schreiber, of Pacific, MO, her sister, Barbara (Barbie) Manns, and her brother, Art (BooBoo) Schreiber, both of Villa Ridge, MO. Anyone, who was fortunate enough to know her, knows that she loved every one of us with her whole heart. Her loss has truly shaken our worlds and we appreciate all the kind words and support from our family and friends. Thank you to everyone. The viewing will be at Prevatt Funeral Home, at 7709 State Road 52 in Hudson, Florida on March 22nd, 2021 at 11 AM. Mitzi will be laid to rest at East Elfers Cemetery, 7100 Baillie Rd New Port Richey, FL at 1:30 PM.
