Robert C. “Bob” Lentz, 91, formerly a long time resident of Rochester, Mn, becoming a full time resident in Hudson, Florida the past two years, passed away on December 5, 2020, in the care of Gulfside Hospice in Hudson, FL.
Bob was born in 1929, in Mankato, MN., to Mr. & Mrs. Clarence W. Lentz of Mapleton, MN. Bob attended country schools and graduated in 1947 from Mapleton High School, Mapleton, MN.
On May 7, 1950, Bob and Louella Miller, of Mankato, MN., were united in marriage in Mapleton, MN. They celebrated 70 years of marriage on May 7, 2020.
In 1965, Bob and Louella moved their family from Minneapolis to Rochester, Mn., where Bob began working for IBM-Rochester. In 1977, Bob was one of many engineers from IBM-Rochester and around the U.S. who were sent to IBM-San Jose to assist on a project there, which lasted several months to one year.
In July 1984, Bob retired from his position as Mechanical Engineer at IBM-Rochester. Bob and his wife, Louella, spent the next thirty-five winters in St. Petersburg, Florida, and made many friends down there. During the winters of 2018 and 2019 they stayed with their daughter, Mrs. Roger (Sharon) DePauw, at their home in New Port Richey, Florida. From here, Bob and Louella found an apartment they liked in an Assisted Living facility in Hudson, FL., and made their home there.
Bob and Louella have four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren from their daughter, Mrs. Dale (Leigh Ann) Curtin of Rochester, MN.
Survivors include: Bob’s wife, Louella, his daughters, Mrs. Roger (Sharon) DePauw, Mrs. Dale (Leigh Ann) Curtin, four grandchildren, six great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren, Bob’s sister, Mrs. Dave (Joyce) Mittelsted of Chaska, Mn., one brother, Pastor & Mrs. Keith (Marlene) Lentz of Stillwater, MN; Louella’s brother, Mr. Robert Miller of Mankato, MN., and many other family members.
Bob is predeceased by one son, Dale, Bob’s parents, his wife’s parents, and other departed family members. Cremains will be interred at a later date in Mapleton, MN.
