Robert Levy

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, dad, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Robert Levy, affectionately known as Papa, on February 25, 2025, at the age of 87. Bob was a loving and devoted husband to Alice Levy for 65 wonderful years. Together, they raised three children, who blessed them with ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Bob was dedicated to his career at Hostess, where he took great joy in bringing home Twinkies, cupcakes and Suzy Q’s for his family. In the evenings, you could find him relaxing with his favorite shows, Jeopardy and Star Trek, and savoring Snyders Sourdough Hard Pretzels with mustard.

A disciplined and passionate martial artist, Bob achieved a black belt in Karate and tried to share that passion with his grandchildren. He was also an ardent fan of the NY Giants, spending every Sunday cheering them on from his living room. His family vividly remembers his efforts “coaching” from the recliner, yelling and swearing at the television.

Bob had a love for golf which he enjoyed playing throughout his life. Restless in retirement, he returned to work in the pro shop at Beacon Woods Golf Club, seamlessly blending his love for golf with his desire to stay active and engaged. A playful competitor, Bob held a special fondness for games, where his inventive interpretations of the rules ensured a consistent victory – always delivered with a twinkle in his eye.

Bob discovered his love for bocce during retirement, where he met a wonderful group of friends who shared his enthusiasm for the game. He continued to play weekly, cherishing the time spent with his bocce buddies. 

Papa’s animated personality mellowed as he got older yet his dedication to his family and friends was unwavering and left an unforgettable mark on everyone who knew him. 

We will always carry his memory in our hearts and will forever miss him.
