Charles “Woody” Woodrow Hurley, Jr. passed away peacefully in his home on December 13th, 2021, surrounded by his loved ones. Woody was born on December 24th, 1938, to parents Juanita Friel and Charles Woodrow Hurley Sr. in Paducah, KY. Woody was a member of the National Guard and worked as a self-taught machinist for 50 years. He was known for his wit and sense of humor, and he enjoyed spending time with his loved ones and his precious dogs most of all. His favorite songs were “After the Lovin’” by Engelbert Humperdink and “Always on My Mind” by Willie Nelson. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Nancy Hurley, whom he married on May 8th, 1964. He also leaves behind his daughters Ruth Watkins (Ken Watkins) and Ronda Dollard (James Dollard Jr.), and his son Michael Hurley; his grandchildren Michelle Bice (Christopher Bice), Jessica Dollard (Ian Welsh), and Melissa Edwards (Marc Edwards); his great-grandchildren Eric Browning, Christopher Bice Jr., and Dominick Bice; and his great-great granddaughter Briar Bice. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you please donate to help the recent tornado victims in Kentucky by donating to the Salvation Army, American Red Cross, or United Way.
