Joyce Ann Johnson

On August 30, 2022, our beloved mother Joyce Ann (Douglas) Johnson went to walk with the angels. She was 81 years old. She passed peacefully with her family by her side. She was born in Bradenton, FL on November 11, 1940. She held many jobs throughout her long life where she often served and cared for others, but her most important jobs were that of “Mom”, “Grandma” and “Gigi” for which she was dearly loved. She raised 7 children and fostered an unbreakable bond that will remain strong beyond her passing. She was a member of Jasmine Baptist Church and always enjoyed helping with the food pantry and assisting anyone in need. Though she really didn’t have any hobbies, she had a passion for sharing the word of God to all that would listen. After retiring from her job as a Medical Assistant, she enjoyed travelling with her husband Bob to various places and made her only trip out of the country to Mexico with a church mission group. She is preceded in death by her parents Larkin Douglas and Nora (Sawyer) Douglas, husband Robert (Bob) J. Johnson, son Michael M. Connolly, and siblings Eddie Douglas, Bobby Douglas, and Evelyn Gaskin. She is survived by her sisters Mary Anne Shirley and Carol Moody, sister-in-law Rose Douglas, children Thomas E. Connolly, Kathryn A. Connolly, Linda J. Connolly, Robert H. Connolly, April L. (Mark) Bellwood, Lisa M. (Robert) Antle, 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews
